Give your child the gift of great dental hygiene

It’s never too early to start instilling positive dental habits

We believe it’s never too soon for your child to become accustomed to the sights and sounds of visiting the dentist, and learn that dental awareness can be exciting. Bringing your child to visit us from the moment they get their first tooth can teach them the value of visits to the dentist and help impart positive lessons and habits that will last a lifetime. Best of all, it shows them that dentist aren’t scary, which will then allow us to aid them into the future, along their dental health journey.

At A J Moore & Associates Dental Practice in Nottingham, our mission is to make your child’s association with the dentist a positive one. We love making our practice a clean, bright, pleasant place to be, and will always endeavour to help your child feel relaxed during their visit. We’re passionate about teaching children good dental hygiene, and arming them with the tools and awareness that will help them enjoy healthy smiles for the rest of their lives.

About Children’s Dentistry

It’s never too early to start and, in fact, earlier is usually better as it allows dentist in Nottingham to advise you on the best at home-care and begin building a positive relationship with your child. A good time to start bringing them along is when their first teeth begin to appear!

Unless your dentist in Long Eaton advises otherwise, every 6 months is recommended, as children’s teeth are softer and much more susceptible to dental decay.

A great way of helping your child look after his or her own teeth is to become their dental hygiene role model! Allow them to see you brushing your teeth twice a day and explain the importance of this habit. Supervise their brushing by letting them brush alongside you.

A great method is to establish a reward chart; rewarding your child each time they brush their teeth. There are also a number of toothbrushes and toothpastes available that may help make brushing a little more fun!

It’s advisable for both adults and children to change their toothbrush every 3 months.
